DEFCON Laptop Defense

The DEFCON network has been widely regarded as one of the most hostile networks on the planet and if you are planning on attending this years conference you'll probably end up on it at some point. So, is your computer up to snuff? A number of us are gathering at the Lodge on Wednesday July 27th at 7pm to make sure our laptops are ready for the challenge. Feel free to join us even if you aren't going to DEFCON. Keeping your laptop in 'battle ready' condition is always a good thing, regardless of where you use it.

DC206 / Toorcon BBQ 6/19

Can't make it to Toorcon? Well, next Sunday we will be having a big party in support of DC206 and Toorcon Seattle. The party is open to everyone, not just the Toorcon attendees. If you are in from out of town or live in Seattle and are just lazy the Toorcon folks will be running a shuttle between the conference and our space.

We have all sorts of fun planned. We will be providing some top quality BBQ in both regular and vegetarian varieties as well as a keg of beer from Mac 'n Jacks (a very good local Brewer). Of course we will also have sodas, sides, and desserts too.

In addition to the food we will also be running a retro gaming event featuring consoles from days gone by.

Finally, we will also have our pen-test lab up and running to satisfy your hacking needs.

So, how much is this going to cost to attend? This event is being thrown for the very affordable price of nothing. While we wont stop you from sticking some cash in our donation box, this event is free to all*. If you are taking the Toorcon shuttle the ride will set you back 30 bucks.

So come on down, Sunday June 19 from noon to 6pm and enjoy some food and fun.

*Standard disclaimer. Folks under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You must be 21 or older to consume alcohol. Drugs are not welcome in our hackerspace, we don't want any hassles from The Man.
