KingMakers: Have an Inkling for Inkscape? - Dec 14th, 2013

Event: Introduction to Inkscape
When: Saturday, 2013-12-14, 2-3pm
Speaker: Austin Spafford
Cost: Free
Talk: 10:30m - 1pm
Where: 17725 NE 65th St A-155, Redmond, WA 98052

Organizer Austin has become very experienced with using Inkscape to create svg files for use with laser-cutters, 3D printers (via OpenSCAD), vinyl-cutters, the EggBot, the new WatercolorBot, and other applications.

Austin has offered to take another crack at sharing his knowledge by teaching us how to create our own designs using Inkscape. Topics will include the basic tools, but advanced features such as direct EggBot and WaterColorBot control will be covered if there's interest and enough time.

Since Inkscape is both free and open-source, simply bring your laptop with Inkscape installed.
While not essential, it would also help to also bring some project ideas to focus the covered topics. Some ideas include tracing a photograph, creating mechanical designs (eg. a catapult), or just creating freestyle drawings.

Note that we are limiting the sign-ups this time due to limited space. So if this is important to you please sign up early. Also, if you find that you won't be able to make it after all, please change the RSVP to "no" in order to free up a slot.
If you want to come and share/work on your own project in the next room, instead of participating in the Inkscape workshop, that is great, skip the RSVP and just show up.
